3 Things You Must do in Buffalo and 3 Things you Must Do in Colorado
Since my heart is divided by these two places, I wanted to share some insider info on places you don't want to miss when you're in Buffalo and Colorado. This is the real deal, the inside scoop, the must-do list!
In Buffalo:
I know, I know...this is an obvious choice, but trust me when I say it's one of those places where you go, "Oh...wow" when you see it in person. Nothing you've seen on TV (including Pam and Jim's wedding) will prepare you for the awesomeness. It's gorgeous, and the power of the water is mesmerizing. I highly suggest taking a ride on the Maid of the Mist and getting a real up close look at the horseshoe falls.
The absolute best. Duff's has been doing chicken wings for over 40 years, and if you ask a local, they'll probably tell you it's not their favorite just to keep you out of there so it doesn't get overrun.
Just the drive to Letchworth State Park is gorgeous, and once you're there, it's pure magic. The park has three major waterfalls, hiking trails, camping options, and even hot air balloon rides over the falls. It's definitely worth a visit during all seasons- watching the leaves change in autumn is stunning.
In Colorado:
Crepes a la Cart in Breckenridge, CO
The French know what they're doing when it comes to crepes- and this little cart in Breckenridge has mastered them. Nothing basic here. The Nutella + banana is pure heaven, but don't miss out on their savory options either (hello, truffle oil + prosciutto!).
Leaf Peeping in the Mountains
Many people think the Northeast is a big deal during autumn, but I say you can't beat Colorado in the fall. Every town has a different miasma of colors due to the various trees and elevations. My favorite spot? The Aspen trees on Boreas Pass!
Drive Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park
If you only have time to do one thing in RMNP...make it this. The views are nothing short of breathtaking, no matter what time of year it is. If you're lucky, you'll see lots of wildlife, and the quiet of it all is probably the most wondrous thing. You can literally hear yourself think up there.
